We promote awareness of Career options in STEM to
under-represented Girls, Women and Youth.
We develop the potential of underserved Women and youth
for effective leadership and participation in STEM education, opportunities and careers.
Girls and Women
Our vision is to promote awareness of Career options in STEM to under-represented Girls and Women. Since its inception, SELA has been actively involved in numerous program initiatives. One of our first is SELA Women Tech Careers Forum. Our commitment to youth has included sponsoring an Annual Senior Service program where youth are invited in to learn about technology and entrepreneurship projects.
SELA has it’s origin in training women on technology Corporate Training projects
in an effort to successfully implement technology installations.
The initial group of Women trainees worked on projects for companies such as
Black Box Network Services, Siemens Communications Network, Port Authority and other Fortune 500 and 1000
SELA has partnered with NJ Labor Dept.Training Provider One-Stop program to
encourage women and recent grads to pursue in demand tech jobs. This is done thru our Tech Careers in Demand Fair and
we endeavor to leverage corporate and government partnerships to advocate for
Girls, Women and Youth STEM opportunities.
Saturday Cool Coding Camp
Saturday STEM is open to students ages 7 to 17. Our Saturday
- Technology = 1 hour of coding each week!!!!
Our child care center
introduces fun elements of Math to our young learners. Helping to lay the fundamental building
blocks essential to developing minds.
